<image:caption>Tracy Linder’s True Grit I first saw Tracy Linder’s work when she joined the site a little more than a year ago. She sent a sculpture from her series “Pound of Flesh,” modeled on the shape and skin of a dead calf, and my reaction echoed my first encounter with paintings by Francis Bacon: revulsion, fascination, and curiosity all at the same time. Linder grew up in the West, living close to the land, and those experiences inform an impressive body of work addressing many of the hot-button issues of our time, from climate change to agribusiness. Though subliminally infused with politics, her deft use of materials and sophisticated vision make for arresting and memorable installations.--Ann Landi, Founder & Editor of Vasari21.com</image:caption>
